As part of raising awareness
and support, the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements annually carries out a
mandate of offering assistance to disadvantaged communities and ensuring
sustainability during the 16 Days of Activism Campaign with the aim of
eradicating poverty especially towards previously abused victims, the elderly
and child headed families.
The work that the Department does:
•Refurbishing
and or building of houses owned by vulnerable women and child-headed families
•Provision
of Furniture
•Non
perishable food
•Painting
•Tilling
•Vegetable
gardens
