No more travelling long distances for job applications

The Gauteng e-Recruitment system is saving many community members on travelling expenses as they do not need to travel long distances to drop of their job applications.

The system which is making waves at this year’s 12th Public Sector Innovation Conference (PSIC 2018) is an online job application system which consist of all Gauteng Provincial Government job opportunities. Citizen register on the site only once, they can then apply for any jobs advertised on the system with only updating their qualifications certification.

Mpho Legoete from Diepkloof in Soweto a user of the system said that she found the system user-friendly and cost effective.  “I don’t need to make copies and travel to a drop off points which can be costly. I have uploaded all my information in the system and can apply for any job anytime.” Legoete said.

To register a personal profile, a first-time user should have a personal email address and ID number. The ID number will be used as a username that should be punched in whenever a job applicant wants to log in. The system can be access at a Thusong Centres located in your area, users are freely helped by officials and through your smartphone.

The Gauteng e-Recruitment system is visited by between 20 and 30 people a day while a minimum of 10 000 browse the site countrywide.
