Sebokeng Hospital walked away with first prize at the Alfred Nzo Environmental Health Excellence Award ceremony held recently.
The hospital’s achieved under the Excellence in Innovation and Chemical Safety Project category for their significant contribution to innovation through decanting and safe use of chemicals in the institution to prevent occupational incidents.
Accepting the overall winner award, Ms Nonhle Mkhize said: “It’s truly is a wonderful feeling receiving a national award and recognition accompanied by a trophy and a tablet, especially because it’s our first time. I believe we only managed to achieve these through hard work and team spirit shared within our department.”
The Acting CEO, Ms Makibiti Madolo said she is excited about the achievement as it places Sebokeng Hospital on the map regarding the delivery of quality health care.
“Occupational Health and Safety is one of the priority within the hospital and we strive to always improve our performance in their regard, she concluded.
